Joe Vandever: Real Code Talker Interview

Joe Vandever originates from New Mexico and was recruited into the 197th Platoon serving in the United States Marine Corp. Having spent his time as a Navajo Code Talker, he transitions on 16 different ships and served on the front lines on several South Pacific Islands during World War II. After his time in the military, he became a medicine man to his people and participates in the rituals and beliefs of his people.
